Field Trips & Group Visits

Kidzu is accepting reservations for Fall 2021 field trips and group visits! If you are not able to come to the museum, let us bring the Kidzu fun to your classroom/organization. Read more about our offerings below.

Kidzu has many different ways to bring the Kidzu fun to your group.

  1. Field Trips: These are Kidzu’s traditional field trips, offered in-person at the museum. Kidzu offers both self-guided visits, and focused learning sessions.
  2. STEM Boxes: STEM Boxes are available for rental and include all necessary lesson plans and individual materials for students to use in independent educational settings. STEM Boxes are curricularly aligned and are available for pre-schoolers to middle schoolers! You can arrange for a Kidzu staff member to come to your classroom and facilitate these activities, or they can be led by an independent educator.
  3. Outdoor Discovery Boxes: Each of our 4 Discovery Boxes include grade-specific, curricularly aligned STEM activities designed to be done outdoors. These boxes can be rented and brought to your outdoor environment at your school/organization.

STEM Boxes

Our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Boxes provide curricularly-aligned activities to engage and excite students in a selection of grade-aligned science topics. These activities can be facilitated by an independent educator, or a Kidzu staff member. Each STEM Box functions as many field trips do, with a full introduction to the topic and 3 different stations-based activities for learners to enjoy. STEM Boxes are available for rental and include all necessary lesson plans and individual materials for students to use in COVID-conscious settings.

The cost to rent our STEM Box materials and curriculum is $50 per classroom. Additional per-student costs can be calculated if you are interested in Kidzu providing individual student materials for the activities you are interested in.

Outdoor Discovery Boxes

Kidzu Discovery Boxes are now available for rental! Each of our 4 Discovery Boxes include grade-specific, curricularly aligned STEM activities designed to be done outdoors. Each Discovery Box includes a facilitator guide with lesson plans and all the materials needed to complete each activity. If you are educating in a virtual setting, we are happy to provide our facilitator guides for download to be adapted to meet your students’ needs. If you are in-person with your students, we would love to work with you to utilize our discovery boxes for an adapted classroom “field trip”. Each Discovery Box has multiple activities for different grade levels. Our Field Trip Coordinator is always available to help modify the activities to fit the needs of your class.

The cost to rent our Discovery Box materials and curriculum is $50 per classroom. Additional per-student costs can be calculated if you are interested in Kidzu providing individual student materials for the activities you are interested in.
